Where can I find families to be interviewed for parenting my child?

Go to the Adoptive Families section of this site and select a couple of families that you would like to meet or talk with.  Call our office (1-877-590-9010) and we send you more information about these families and will put you in touch with them for an interview.

What is the next step after choosing a family?

Once you have narrowed your selection to one family, you will meet with the family (or not, if you choose) and make arrangements for the placement of your child.  You can choose to have as much openness as you and the adoptive couple wish.

This is a very important step in that it is a bonding experience for you as well as the adoptive family and child.  You can get to know the family closely and know that your child will be loved and cared for.

What if I need help choosing a family or do not want an open adoption?

If you choose to have a closed adoption, or find the decision too difficult to make, we will help you choose a family that will suit your needs.  We will leave all disclosing information out and tell you all about the family and what they have to offer your child.

What will happen next?

Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy, you may have the adoptive couple share in your experience right up until delivery.  You may choose to have the adoptive mother in the delivery room with you to bond with the baby at birth.  You may have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with the adoptive couple before you deliver.  They are a great source of inspiration and hope for you and your unborn child.

How long after the delivery to I have to ... ?

bulletHold my baby-This will be determined by you and the adoptive couple.  You may decide not to hold the baby but enjoy watching the adoptive couple bond and love your child.  You may decide to only hold the baby immediately after delivery and then allow the adoptive couple to the remainder of the stay.
bulletSee my baby-Again, this will be decided by you and the adoptive family.  They are most willing to accommodate your needs and wants.
bulletBefore I have to sign any papers-That will be determined by the hospital in which you deliver.  Some hospitals are as early as 4-6 hours and some are 24-36 hours.
bulletBefore I get to go home-  Again this will be determined by the hospital and your physician.  Depending on your method of delivery, it usually is after at 24-36 hour period.
